Job Description

As a member of the OneRetail Training and Organizational Development team, the Sr. Manager of Clinical Practice Training will play a key role in creating high-value training programs for our employees at all levels. The Training Manager will lead the design, development and delivery of our Dispensing School and Distance Learning Program for Hearing Care Professionals (HCP). This individual will support Licensing and Sponsorship programs that elevate talent throughout our geographically dispersed organization. This exciting role involves working with professionals throughout the U.S. in both classroom and virtual learning environments.

Reporting to the VP of Organizational Development, the successful person in this role will use instructor-led and multi-media tools/platforms to facilitate a comprehensive, multi-module program to help HCP trainees obtain and maintain their state license. This role will work with the training team to assist with development of online and other learning solutions that target learning objectives, improve performance and deliver business results. This role is based in Somerset, NJ and will involve 50-75% travel.   • Design, develop, deliver and oversee core OneRetail training programs (ie: Hearing Health Academy, Dispensing School, Distance Learning Program for HCP trainees, product training, etc.)
  • Manage the tracking, monitoring and reporting of HCP licensing and renewal status; act as the subject matter expert (SME) on all state licensing regulations.
  • Manage the HCP training Sponsorship program, including administration and tracking of Sponsor status and payments (ie: Phase Training Program)
  • Conduct training needs assessment/analysis, compile results, and present recommendations based on business needs and Executive Management directives.
  • Implement training initiatives which may involve instructional design, content development, facilitation/delivery, project management, partnering and consulting/advising participants at all levels.
  • Participate in creation of a learning program inventory and development strategy, to identify current/new content needs and prioritize timeline for delivery.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple learning project plans with extreme flexibility to meet tight deadlines. 
  • Serve as a mentor, coach and resource for all licensed Hearing Care Professionals, as well as their supervisors and Sponsors.
  • Share in program management and content development in our Learning Management System (LMS), to provide the best experience for the learners. 
  • Measure the effectiveness and impact of learning solutions, and use the data to continuously improve our learning solutions.
  • Support large-scale business meetings, such as Hearing Health Academy, HCP Training Sessions, National Sales Meetings, etc.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate records of work activities, report reliable data to business leaders, and comply with all internal and external requirements.
  • Work effectively with business partners at the local, national and global level.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Currently or previously licensed as a Hearing Instrument Dispenser in one or more states.
  • Knowledgeable in all state and national licensing regulations and credentialing programs.
  • Proficient in the instructional design process, adult learning principles and training design and delivery.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and non-verbal communication skills, and ability to communicate with a wide variety of audiences.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of GoToMeeting, Skype and/or Adobe Connect, and the design of synchronous learning events.
  • Prior experience working with Learning Management Systems and/or eLearning authoring tools preferred
  • Certified Professional in Learning and Development (CPLP) credential preferred.


  • Preferred bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of experience and education.
