Job Description

An incoming mailroom clerk performs functions related to the opening, sorting and delivering of incoming orders and other misc. packages.




  • Keep work areas organized and neat
  • Store excess trays an keep a working supply readily available for incoming work
  • Move all incoming orders to the Incoming Order Work Area.
  • Open each package. Keep individual orders separate, check the account/address information on work order forms, insure that all items are removed and accounted for from each package.
  • Sort incoming orders according to type and place in appropriate tray for that order type.
  • Deliver order to proper work area according to order type.
  • Drop off all exceptions to the exception handling area of C/S for resolution.
  • Arrange break schedules around workload.
  • Inform supervisor of any change in carrier delivery service.
  • Maintain and use individual stamps for marking of paperwork.
  • Time permitting perform other misc. tasks such envelope stuffing of invoices or assisting prepack or shipping.

Education And/Or Experience

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED; or minimum of 3 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
