Job Description

AR Customer Service Specialist is responsible for providing assistance to both internal and external customers with all questions relating to insurance billing. Incumbent should be a subject matter expert in all items including, but not limited to, insurance billing, insurance and patient collections, credentialing, Explanation of Benefits (EOB’s), patient statements and Point of Sales billing system.

    • Answer incoming calls and resolve issues
    • Work in a cross functional environment to resolve any and all calls/emails/chats related to insurance and patient billing.
    • Support HearingLife locations by providing appropriate solutions to insurance questions and/or challenges.
    • Resolve outstanding issues in a timely manner and track using the Remedy ticketing system
    • Understanding of basic billing functions
    • Ability to display empathy and understanding when dealing with internal and external customers.
    • Must be able to interpret/translate insurance benefit and plan designs in a simplistic manner
    • Verify discrepancies by and resolve client insurance billing issues
    • Facilitate payment of patient invoices and outstanding insurance invoices
    • Answer questions regarding insurance coverages (ie deductible, copay and coinsurance information)
    • Support and assist clinic personnel with ensuring all proper customer information and authorizations are present for clean insurance claim submittal to insurance carriers for accurate and timely claims processing and payments
    • Perform other duties as assigned by Sr. Management.


  • High school diploma/GED, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience in billing, medical insurance claim processing
  • 2-3 years in a customer service capacity
  • Proficient in MS Office specifically with Excel and Word.
